Your 5 days Rwanda Uganda double gorilla trek safari will be the most interesting one because you will trek gorillas twice and from different countries that is Uganda and Rwanda in Uganda, you are going to trek gorillas from Bwindi Impenetrable national Park and in Rwanda, you will trek gorillas from volcanoes national Park.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali and drive to volcanoes national park
When you land at Kigali International airport, you are going to meet the allocated driver guide who will brief you and then drive you out of Kigali to volcanoes national Park the home of mountain gorillas. Volcanoes National Park is located in the North Eastern part of Rwanda on the border of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Arrive and check-in at the lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park
Wake up very early in the morning have breakfast at the lodge then get your packed lunch and transfer to volcanoes national Park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing and permit payments. After all that, you will be given a Park ranger guide who is well armed to guide you through the trails up to your allocated gorilla family.
When you reach your allocated gorilla group, one hour will be given to you to watch the mountain gorillas groom each other, feed, the young ones play with their mothers. You will enjoy your lunch from the Bush then move back to the lodge to look at primates, mammals and birds.
Day 3: Cross to Uganda
Today, have breakfast then pack your luggage and drive out of Rwanda to Uganda with good views of natural physical features like hills and mountains. Cross the border Cyanika border to the southern part of Bwindi impenetrable national Park which is also a home for mountain gorillas. Check in at the hotel, relax and spend your night at the lodge as you warm up for Uganda gorilla trekking day.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national Park
On this day, wake up have breakfast and drive to the park headquarters where you will be briefed and then led to the jungle to look for mountain gorillas. Trekking for these humble apes takes about 1–8 hours depending on the movements of these gorillas. Once you come in touch with the gorillas, you will be given one hour to watch them do their daily behaviours.
Day 5: Drive to Kampala and fly
With breakfast in the morning, you will carry your luggage and drive to Kampala International airport with a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe where you will spend a moment taking photos and have a look at some experiments. When you reach Kampala fly back home.
